Every franchise has one — an entry that is truly divisive where the fandom is concerned or is simply universally despised. For Star Wars, it’s The Last Jedi. Rocky has Rocky V. The J.J. Abrams Star Trek trilogy — well, some fans think it’s all three of them. And for Planet of the Apes, it’s undoubtedly Tim Burton’s 2001 reboot of the 1968 original. Well, Screencrush has a video that disagrees, noting, “It’s notorious as one of the worst reboots ever. But it shouldn’t be. Here’s why we like Tim Burton’s underrated Planet of the Apes.

    1. Because the attempts to reboot POTA began in 1988 with Adam Rifkin’s ‘Return of the Apes.’So I use that as the launch point and continue until Tim Burton’s version.
