Actress Dichen Lachman is the latest cast member to join Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, 10th in the series that began with the original Planet of the Apes in 1968. Over the years, she’s had starring or recurring roles in such TV shows as Dollhouse, Last Resort, King & Maxwell, The 100, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Shameless, The Last Ship, Altered Carbon, Animal Kingdom and, most recently, Severance. Her most recent film role was as Soyona Santos in Jurassic World Dominion.
Notes The Hollywood Reporter in the video below, “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is set many years after the conclusion of 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes. All of human history has led to this moment in the new film. Many ape societies have grown from when Caesar brought his people to an oasis, while humans have been reduced to a. feral-like existence. Some groups have never heard of Caesar, while others have contorted his teachings to build burgeoning empires.”
Not word on what character Lachman is playing, but Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will be released in May of 2024.
