The first trailer for next May’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes has been released, and it looks damn interesting. The story has obviously been projected further into the future as evident by the fluent nature in which the apes are now able to speak. Little can be discerned from the footage, but there’s a very intriguing moment when apes on horseback are moving along a beach in a moment that looks like the climax of the original Planet of the Apes (1968) right before Charlton Heston’s George Taylor found the remnants of the Statue of Liberty. Will Lady Liberty make an appearance here as well? We’ll know soon enough.
